Casey Haymes is a writer and educator who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His stories have appeared in Fence, Post Road, LIT, Flash (UK), and elsewhere. At The New School, he teaches creative writing and research in the Parsons First-Year and Creative Writing departments. He was a finalist for The Missouri Review’s Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize and was awarded residencies from VCCA, DISQUIET, Hambidge, Jentel, and Santa Fe Art Institute. He is a current participant in Granta’s memoir workshop with Dr. Midge Gillies and Rowan Hisayo Buchanan. He has also workshopped at Tin House with Aimee Bender, Writing x Writers Manuscript Bootcamp with Pam Houston, and at the Indiana University Writers’ Conference with T Kira Māhealani Madden. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, where he served as Editor of the program’s literary journal LUMINA. He performs and teaches longform comedy improv.
