Casey Haymes

Casey Haymes is a writer and educator living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, and is an alum of Granta’s writing workshop with Dr. Midge Gillies and Rowan Hisayo Buchanan. His stories have appeared in Fence, Post Road, LIT, Flash, and elsewhere. At The New School, he teaches creative writing and research in the Parsons First-Year and Creative Writing departments. He was a finalist for The Missouri Review’s Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize and was awarded residencies from VCCA, DISQUIET, and Jentel. He workshopped at Tin House with Aimee Bender and at the Indiana University Writers’ Conference with T Kira Māhealani Madden. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, where he served as Editor of the program’s literary journal LUMINA. He teaches and performs longform improv.
